It might perhaps be helpful to include the Islamic date (in this case, AH 868) in the title.

I suspect that some collectors of Islamic coins might not remember offhand which particular AD years the dates of their Islamic coins convert to...

the fifth edition is a big fish, swimming one year per day this way - still in the 17th century (today = 1606) and already at page 293 !

Yikes. This post will be the first concrete movement of 2019 in our 4th OFEY quest. That is sorta depressing to ponder, but I am super-excited to be able to contribute to our progress today.


Here is an undated Goldgulden of the German Electorate of Pfalz that was issued only in AD 1464. I'm pretty sure that it was produced at the Heidelberg mint on behalf of Friedrich I. It is attributed as Felke #1395 and Friedberg #1978.
