As usual, I bid before even checking the more obvious sources like Red Book... Do I get any points for being just about the furthest away?

Quote: OK, please indulge this ignorant newbie - what makes this coin so expensive? Price for any coin is a supply & demand question ... and I know there are many out there who might wonder why a worn out Peace dollar brings this kind of money ... The 1928 Peace $ is generally accepted as the key date for the 24 coin series in grades up to MS ... and is by far the lowest mintage in the series at 360,649. There is a very small (but growing) community of collectors who appreciate these coins in certifiable problem-free low ball state ... myself being one of them. A discussion of the inverse pricing model for true lowballs is beyond the scope of this reply .... suffice to say this PCGS certified Pop 2/0 coin was a bargain to me. 1928 Peace dollar - PCGS PO01 Onward to the next round .... and I am in contention.
