I picked it because the ground is frozen and I knew I likly wouldn't get any deep signals. Dodged some icebergs recovered 8 dimes, 2 nickels, 7 cents. .97 total. Its a start. Well, it's not 5 feet, the bottom 8 inches or so have become ice. I would have surely thought you'd have more snow on your side of the lake. Report this Post to the Staff

MINT_MARQ Pillar of the Community United States 1000 Posts	Posted 03/28/2008 1:47 pm I got out a week or so ago. Just did a quick scan while I watched the kids on the jungle gym. I found 1 quarter, 2 dimes, 1 nickel, 2 pennies. My niece found 3 pennies in the wood chips at the bottom of the slide and razz'd me a little. "Look I found 3 pennies and I did not even need a metal detector" It was nice to get out of the house. But Michigan likes to get your hopes up and then shoot you down. 3 days in the 40s, than 5 inches of snow last night, then 40 degrees again today. Maybe the snow will stop by June. By the way the nickel was a 1947, my oldest coin yet. Weird how the old nickels turn red in the ground. Report this Post to the Staff
Dockwalliper Valued Member United States 342 Posts	Posted 03/28/2008 5:57 pm I could see some ground but its gone now. We got 2-3 inches last night. Chris, You were running ahead of us in snowfall for most of the winter but I think we have caught up. I believe we are at 104 inches for the season.
