The cheapest way to build a World coin collection, which includes silver.

When your collection is big enough to be much more interesting, culling can be a good idea. Obvious culls would be common base metal 20th Century coins, below F condition.
Keep all coins 19th Century or earlier, and all 20th Century coins in EF or better.

Went to a local vintage fair and got 285 coins, which includes a silver 1943 quarter and a 1917 silver 3 pence.

A bunch of ww2 bank notes from Germany and Japan, I paid £10 for the whole lot.

sel_69l I have been slowly building an eclectic world collection. I remember some of your posts about how you did it and found them to be of inspiration.

Thank you for the comments Thisistheshow and jbuck.

Yesterday I visited my LCS, he never really has foreign coins as he deals in British coins. However he had a jar of foreign coins that I looked through and got the following 3 coins for 60 pence (approx 80 us cents).

1945 indore state 1/4 Anna
1966 silver Finnish markka
1965 silver Swedish kroner

As of today the last two contain a total of almost $3.- in silver- and this does not account for any numismatic premium between the three...so you got a great deal.

Last Saturday I went to my 1st live auction, I managed to win a box of 3000+ coins and 25 bank notes. It cost me £65 in total. I got 50 silver coins and a number interesting non silver coins. I'm going to be taking a little break for a while as I have a backlog of coins that need I to sort through.

I know the 1938 eire half crown is a counterfeit, but it seems to be silver.

The 1925 nickel has no mint mark and is in great condition.
