Dismantling your own thread to pave the way for yet another Days Of Thread. According to my calculations, the Days of Shield And Barber Nickels should have progressed as follows: 3-15-17 = 1909 3-16-17 = 1910 3-17-17 = 1911 3-18-17 = 1912 3-19-17 = 1913......... No one posted any of these dates - except for 1909 - and the Dansco Album shots of 10 & 11. I'll add a few - and all but one is in the ELBESAAR Collection. You'll never guess which one isn't in my set...LOL 1910: 1911: Pocket Change from my Grandfather: 1912: 1913 ....

I post mine as Dansco rows at the end of the date range for that row because it is not worth the time or effort to photograph individual V nickels which don't grade higher than Very Fine in most cases. Obviously, the slabbed coins that I own, are posted separately, as well as the 1885-1886-1912S. Sure, I could photograph, and post, every V nickel I have for a given date, but the photos would spam this thread with stuff no one wants to see anyway. Moe asked for thread suggestions for the next round: they were given; more likely this thread has not been getting much activity because there are not a lot of collectors on CCF of high grade V nickels and many of the rest are probably like me and don't want to spend hours just to photograph and post heavily circulated coins and culls. That being said -- 1912: 1912-S (Coin #1) - Dansco - VG8, "RTY" visible 1912, 1912-D, and 1912-S (Coin #1) - Dansco Coins 1912-S (Coin #2) - PCGS VG 8 (undergraded!)

I don't know what happened to this coin, but it spent many years in the 1913 hole of my Whitman folder.
