Funny all you saying the Barbers looks like a man. I guess he was 100 years ahead of his time with all the gender neutrality now. Who says a man can't wear a tiara?

What the Barber series lacks in ahem..cough.., design beauty, usually regains stature to collectors (at least to this one) when they see a true mint state original untarnished example of the Barber half dollar.

My least favorite classic coin is by far the Standing Liberty quarter.

No way is the Barber a feminine coin, otherwise it would be a Barbette or Barby.

Has no one mentioned Liberty nickels? To me they are hands down the worst design on any classic U.S. coin.

I actually agree - the Morgan dollars are a lot uglier than the Peace dollars (though neither are anywhere near as ugly as the Trade dollars).

Anyone who likes the George Morgan dollar design should like the Charles Barber V Nickle design. The obverse is basically the same.

Really? Proof V-Nickels are okay, but I would not call them "gorgeous."

The V nickel was the first "really old" coin I had as a kid collector, so I'm kind of partial to them from a nostalgia perspective.
