New From Rural Illinois

When I was young, I put together a little mix of US and Canadian coins. A lot of fluff, but a few nice items.

About 30 years ago, it all wound up in a box. About 20 years ago, it also wound up in a flood.

I am just now getting it put in order. There's been mold and a lot of nastiness, but it has been very fun to see these again.

There was no internet last time I thought about coins. I'm surprised at some of the values, particularly of some of the Canadian pieces.

I will need advice on the best ways to store the items I like. I'll also ask for advice on disposing of some of the fluff. How many mediocre Jefferson nickels does a person need?

I also find that I will need some help sorting out varieties.

I've lurked in these forums for a couple of weeks, and I appreciate the help I have received from others' discussions.

So, I think I'm off to make my first "Help Me!" post and see how that goes.
