That was the second hint, Slamnbass.

Hint#1 - the coin was minted in the 20th century

Where did you all see the second hint? I clicked on "New Posts", so I should have seen it since there was only one hint the last time I read this thread.

---

EDIT: Ah, I see what happened now. The OP (original poster), panzaldi, edited his initial post, rather than adding a new post to the thread.

The updated (edited) section of the initial post is:

Quote:
OK, I need to redefine the contest. yes I am looking for the coin type, date and mintmark. another hint will be posted tomorrow. also, it is a US Minted coin. sorry about the confusion this is my first contest.

Hint#1 - the coin was minted in the 20th century
Hint#2 - The coin contains more than 50% copper

This is one of those Internet things that one usually learns by making a mistake (that's how I learned it), so no harm, no foul for panzaldi.

What's the lesson? When you want to edit, update, or clarify something, you should add a new post to the thread, i.e., do not edit the original post because most members will not realize that you have edited it.

Hey, at least panzaldi didn't announce a winner and then come back a little while later to say, "There has been a mistake. The real winner is..."
