Hint #3 - Check the original post
OP appears to be adding hints to the bottom of his original post.

Quote: What's the lesson? When you want to edit, update, or clarify something, you should add a new post to the thread, i.e., do not edit the original post because most members will not realize that you have edited it. due to the number of post on these contests I though it better to edit the original post and change the subject to show that the next hint was given. If I would just add a reply a a lot of folks might miss the next hint unless they went through all of the replies

At any rate, it's a fun contest and that's the most important thing.

panzaldi, your contest, your rules!
But I do agree that it's helpful to have the hints woven into the thread. That way if a hint is something like "x people have the right denomination," we know where to start counting. Obviously, I don't want to influence your hints (or pretend I know what's coming) but similar type hints with a cutoff were used in several recent contests.

Quote: Speaking of which, I will abandon commie coins I was thinking along the same lines. Panzaldi never said it was a US coin, just that it is a US minted coin. But, I assumed with 95% certainty that it is a US coin. There's still that other 5% so take from this what you will...

Hint#3 - it has a plain edge
the system will not allow me to change the subject so hopefully that wont mess anyone up. sorry about this but like I said I've never done this before.
