Quote: But the first banknote, notice anything different between it and the second one? The serial number appears on the reverse side. This was a 1979 printing of the Scenes of Canada and that was the only feature that was changed. Is that it? Are you sure? Take a closer look! Look at the denomination numerals- different font and pattern surrounding them. Look at the note top middle... differnt security feature in print Look at the colour "halo" around the queen - different ink colour... The colour band to the left of the coat of arms is different the security ink feature is different to the right of the queen. ... the one I can't be certain of is if they changed the FPN and BPN locations for the series as well...

Hi Wildflower. I was hoping you would post after I put the wrong bills on your Six series post ( realized after the fact title was 6 series). I figured you would have some to show.
Sorry for the error and thanks for letting me know. I'll try to post some more bills tonight

Tee, I honestly didn't mind what bills you added. Had it been pre-colonial tokens, I might have wondered.
AgCOinAu, sharp eye! Yes there are subtle changes although the basic design remained the same within that series. Of interest, only the $20 and $5 were released in that later issue.

Not having a bill collection as of yet but very much enjoying this thread. Attached photo meets only 1 of the 2 requirements - forgive me .

All of these are very nice. My coin budget gets a reload in about 10 days so hopefully I will be able to pick up some goodies to contribute.

Aghawk I did say show us your $20.00 in the title, so you are good to go with the '67 gold. Upc239 I really like the look and colouring of that bill. Here are some more

I will be in Vancouver & Victoria this summer. I suppose this is a silly question, but does anyone recommend any bank(s) which are friendlier to folks asking for new crisp 20s and 50s?

Yakimaboy you can always try our casinos in Vancouver, I've found if you ask they are always willing to give out fresh ,sequential bills when cashing out chips. I do it all the time.

Yakima boy. You might find that it will be a combination of timing and luck when you ask. They have to have new bills to give to you and hopefully they are obliging. Then the next problem if you find new bills is watching as the teller counts them hoping they are not being creased or bent. Happy bill hunting.
