It is damage. The date is most likely lost forever.

In that state, though, it doesn't really matter what date it is.

I am just curious as to if its silver or everything else including the kitchen sink I dont collect for profit only for the sport of it

And no I wanted to put black and decker in there cause they pay my bills and order my pizzas on fridays

If it was 35% silver it would have a large mint mark above the dome on the reverse.

If silver would have lagrge Mintmark on back, no such luck...
