Hi DTrain. Sorry for you, but hopefully this will prove to be a relatively inexpensive lesson and save you far more in the future. As a side benefit you have joined the CCF and that is a great thing. Stick around and enjoy.
I disagree with the sentiment of anger and judgement being passed on the buyer at least regarding the buy. (I agree that he should wait until he receives it in hand and Take his own pictures. But that is his business.)
Many of us here enjoy a good cherrypick and, indeed congratulate each other on our successful finds. Every cherry pick has a "victim" who wishes they had only known or noticed the DDR or the badly worn mint mark or whatever else it may be. While there may be some people who would let the dealer know of their mistake, and they are commendable, one cannot judge anyone who takes advantage of the "deal". There you have my Two Cents.

Words to live by: Always try to be the cherrypicker, not the cherrypickee.

If this miserable, corroded coin can be considered a "cherry pick" then I'm in the wrong orchard.

Eh, different viewpoints, I suppose. I'd be glad to have this coin -- it's got a mintage of 309k, less than the fabled 1909S VDB LWC. In terms of value, look at the price it's going to realize immediately after purchase.

I'm not well versed in IHC, but wouldn't a 1909 in that condition be lucky to get a couple of bucks? The buyer couldn't have been the only one to notice the mistake..

If you didn't give him permission to your photos you can possibly get the auction shut down and even maybe sue him. I wouldn't care about getting cherrypicked on a mistake but what he's doing stealing your pics to resell before he even has it is dirty!

As far as the original mistake, that's just live and learn.

I don't like that the buyer has listed it, using your photos, before actually receiving it. That's, for one, very risky on his part and also what I would call dishonest to the bidders he has.

There is a small part of me that hopes it gets lost in the mail so he can learn best practices for listing. That's my four half-cents.

Well guys, I did indeed watch his auction, and it sold for $202.50, that's quite a quick profit for my cherrypicker! Oh well, I congratulated him. I'm not too bitter, though I did tell him I should start watermarking my photos. Life goes on.

Late to the party, but I would have filed a complaint with ebay per Cascade's suggestion and tried a package intercept.
