Howdy All!

I be Danger Don, new to this forum.

Recently, I have seen a bunch of Morgan CC end coins in rolls for sale.

Now, given the odds on not only having a CC coin in a roll, but also having one (or two) on the end showing the obverse side of a CC Morgan I find this a bit odd.

Any thoughts on this?

Thanks,

Don

You are probably refering to the ones that often appear on ebay. They are largely regarded as bait rolls. Same as the cent rolls with 1909 indians face up on the end and 1909 vdb tails up. The sellers intentionally assemble the rolls in such a way to make you hopeful for a very valuable roll.
I couldn't guarantee that any particular one is or is not legit, but as a generalization, that would answer your question.

Well, what's the value of the cheapest CC Morgan, harshly cleaned. Plus 19 other culls. Start there as your valuation. And don't go much higher.

The cheapest CC Morgan that I could find is the 1890 CC Morgan is valued at about $70, uncertified, G4 condition. If you consider the 1900 O/CC Morgan a CC Morgan, that would be the cheapest CC Morgan. Add in harsh cleaning, scratches, gouges, and lower grade, an 1890 CC Morgan could sell for just melt.

Coin rolling machines weren't invented then, so the roll is put together. Avoid like the plague
