I missed your update and was still going by the midnight May 25th that you had on the first page. Bummer -- I even put all guesses into a spread sheet yesterday to make my guess. Ah well, good luck tomorrow!

I am exhausted, it was a crazy day. The auctioneer took great care and would not sell some of the items with my gratitude for not doing so. He used his judgement and although I threw no signals his way, we were on the same page.

I have brought home 5 bourse cases with coins in them. You know, the kind you see on the tables at coin shows.
A lot of the UK stuff and Canadian stuff would not sell. ( at least he wasn't giving them away )
I ended up with quite a few prestiege sets and premier sets and silver proof sets. Commemorative Dollars. Weird?
It was just the strangest thing.
I had 4 people with me, my wife, a good buddy and another friend and his wife for support. She bought a few little things. I didn't really want any bidding from them of course. But she wanted the stuff so I kept my mouth shut. I think it was around 35 bucks total.

So ... how did I do? I can't give an exact figure on the total sales but it was about tad over $8900.00.
Off of that comes the commission, advertising, paying the runners and rent of the hall.
Figuring no more than 20% of the total, I should net a little over $7100.00.

I am really happy about this since I got a number of good items yet to sell again on my own or keep and reached my goal, hoping for $7000.00.
Some highlights were the 1909 S VDB that was in a hot bidding war. Dropped to $400. and he said he wasn't going to sell it at that and then it went off! Went crazy high over $900.00. The thing is plainly described and graded as GENUINE F12 "CLEANED" by ANACS. Oh well, I got double what I thought for that. The Gold Sovereigns averaged $400.00 each. At least $100. each too high. The Clearfield note got $325 and it was a rag. The 1921 and 1928 Peace dollars did really well.
The Trade dollar got $300.00 which was a tad low but at least it didn't sell for $150 or $200.
Lincolns sold well, no matter what they were, The 1932 S Quarter got $125. The tougher dates got fair money.
Bust coins did OK, seated did not. I came home with Large Cents, Flying Eagles, Two Cents and Buffalos.
Just crazy insane but I got coins, and I got money.
Nobody would bid on the 1994 Trial Bimetal UK coin. Not even $5.00 and it sells easily on ebay in the $400.00 range. Glad I still own that!

It was a super day come to think of it. Where I took a little beating on some, I made up in spades on the better stuff. Common Morgans and Peace dollars sold for about $27.50 average. Silver made spot and a little better.

I'll have an exact figure when we settle up and I get my check. I'll post a picture of the amount on the check.
Now .... it's nappy nap time for me. I am beat.
