So I went to my first coin show. I thought I would be able to pick up a couple albums for a reasonable price and save on shipping. Unfortunately they were more expensive than what I have found online so I decided against that.

I found a vendor that had a bag of "Good" grade Barber dimes with a label next to it that said " Barber dimes $1.50 each".

I have started an affordable (I mean circulated) type set, so I decided that it was a great price about melt.

I put 2 dollars on the counter and said I would take one and the guy looks at me like I am a complete idiot. In a demeaning tone he says everyone else is selling these for double that price and that I have to buy the whole bag of 42 coins for $63 to get this price and rolls his eyes at me for even thinking I could buy one for that price.

Am I wrong for being so offended by this guy? I just walked away with my $1.50, but it basically ruined my day since this is the first table I stopped at.

The sign should have said "$63 for the bag", not "$1.50 each".

Sorry I just had to vent.

I did find some silver in the 50% bargin bin at another table, so I guess it wasn't a complete loss.

The sign was misleading and the guy was a jerk. I would have thought the same thing you did.

The guy was a total donkey. Properly labeled it would have been a good deal though.

For every good dealer at a coin show, there is at least one bitter apple. I am just glad you were able to get past him and find something!

Now there's some people/sales skills.

Whenever a dealer pulls this at a show...walk away.
Or, if you can take their 'tude a little longer--cherrypick something off them.

You should go back and tell him that you'll sell him a $20 dollar gold Saint-Gaudens for $39. When he gets his money out tell him it's $39 a gram.
