The model penny is interesting. Apparently we were not the only country with a large oversized copper coin that the populace hated.

Thank you all! Dearborn, it's in the Exonumia listings on Numista - search for "One Penny Model". Two types, plus a ½ Penny Model which is much less common.

Thank you, jbuck and Dearborn! The 1 Euro is a really sweet coin, and the 5 Lati is a crown-sized coin. They make a nice pair.
