I like the simplicity of the reverse of that Lebanese note Coopertron, but what identifies it as 1988? Don't forget, per the OP

My apologies. The date is near the bottom on the obverse. It's in Arabic numerals.

It's no problem, I've done the same thing before. Thanks for the clarification, can't wait to see your upcoming notes! I'm learning a lot about different world denominations in this thread!

1988 - Peru P-144 100,000 Intis

The back of this note has boats on lake Titicaca (such a cool sounding name for a place which borders Bolivia a land locked country. Titicaca is the largest lake in South America.

This note was obtained by mail from a fellow banknote collector in Peru.

Tried to buy some obsolete notes in Peru but they were much more expensive than online.

The note features Vincenzo Bellini, an opera composer, along with his namesake opera house on the obverse, while the reverse depicts a scene from his opera "Norma" and an allegory of "Lyrics."

I have no real notes from this date, but the Canadian Tire notes would be like the tokens of coins! Well... maybe. Besides, thanks to those who have already posted 1985 banknotes, we will still be moving forward even if this one does not count.
