1950 Washington S Over D? - Coin Community Forum

But I was just reorganizing my binder and, having just looked at a 1951-S, noticed that this one looks a little odd. The top of the S is closed, there's a line in the lower loop of the S (not very distinguishable in the pictures), and there's a little protrusion at the bottom of the mint mark. A look in the Red Book told me that S over D is a variety for that year. Can you take a look and let me know what you think? Thanks! Michelle P.S. My apologies for the crappy photographs... Coop is our resident expert, but he usually comments on threads that are incorrectly answered or in doubt or really nice coins. If you don't hear from him, I think you can pretty much consider this one damaged. These pics aren't bad for through a glass. I bet you get some awesome ones with your new camera. coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 05/29/2017 12:07 pm It doesn't look like the one on PCGS that is a large image: Click on to examine the shape of the mint mark.
