Wow, I can't believe I missed this entire thread! Too bad there hasn't been a follow-up but, it hasn't been that long. If the two pics are indeed of the same coin, this is for real IMHO. The only way I could investigate further is to download the pics and compare file names. The two are not numbered consecutively but are close and taken the same day. Unfortunately, this means nothing but I don't think Everardo was trying to fool anyone considering it wasn't even the question being asked. I can't say anything about how this would have happened. All I can say is that the markers I've come to distinguish on the reverse all match a Wide AM. These include: - spacing of A in STATES - spacing of AM in AMERICA - the very slight inward-looking angle of the left lower leg of the M in AMERICA - the spacing of ME in AMERICA - the spacing of the initials from the Memorial - the vertical and horizontal serifs on the G of the initials Color can not really be debated because the pics are overblown anyway and the sides don't necessarily have to match depending on what the coin has been exposed to. I also see no evidence of tampering/alteration. However, this is all useless without knowing for a fact these pics are of the same coin. I certainly hope that they are! P.S. I check D mints for this all the time anyway, just in case.

Everado, you have to prove your case, I don't believe coins pictured are the same, easy to screw up and post wrong reverse with auto labeling turned on. Use the mirror method, if its true, I'll buy you a few beers!

Considering Everardo hasn't been back to the thread for 6 days we may never know.

Everadoooooooo!?! Edit: I looked at his profile and he actually visited the forum yesterday, June 8th. He hasn't posted anything since this though.

He responded on one of his other threads: "New finds of the day. Grade?" He said that he hasn't sent it off as he hasn't had time. I told him that it was much more worth his time to ship it off.
EDIT: Not sure why he hasn't responded here though.

Maybe he doesn't realize how valuable this coin may be. I would have sent it off immediately.
