This is a true clip, not PMD, on OP's coin. A quick dip in a diluted water/dip solution might do the trick on the spots, but I value originality; YMMV.

Here is an example of a small clip on a clad Roosie, a 1974 from my cabinet, cracked out of a yellow ANACS slab:

According to the top picture from original poster....is the coin punched from left to right or vise-versa?

Are you referring to the very first pic or the top pic in the second set (closeups)?

If the second set, I was curious also about where the "breakaway point" fits as far as blank orientation.
