Hi all Anyone got the skinny on the 1988 RDV-901 and the 1988D RDV-901? My books and other web info lists the 1988 as more valuable. However when I look at auctions trying to find either, the 1988D has sold for mid to high $400 range in MS RB? What gives on the two? I have put a WAM and CAM variety set together in the AU (CAM) to MS RB range ( WAM) and want to upgrade the WAMS to MS red. My 1988D has machine damage so want to replace it. But bejeeze the 88D is fat money. Also the population is very low on both but the 88D less than half of the 88. Signed, confused in Oregon

Thanks John1. Let me clarify about the 1992 CAM no that one I don't have someday I hope to find an AU in the under 6G range, the 1992 D CAM I won on Greatcollections for right under 2G in AU58. I know pics are a must I keep getting the bizz from members and rightly so. Wow you have found both P and D 1988 RDV's? that's some real persistence and luck way to go. I will get pics soon for all the fellow LMC fans. Incidentally the 1999 WAM I won on Great collections in MS64 RB hammered at $119 I was stunned it went so low it books at nearly twice the amount. There was a MS65 Red that was drawing heavy bidding and the MS64 seemed like a sleeper so I went for it instead, I lucked out. The money I saved enabled me to shelf my 2000 WAM I found and bid on one in MS66. I won it last Sunday at $27. She's what gives in the market right now? Its Bear for selling but Bull for buying. Oh man please forgive that stuff is for another section of the forum,Im still learning moderators. To make up for my faupaux I will get some pics downloaded. Thanks again John1.

John1 There is a MS64 Red 1988D FS-901 (RDV 006) on Greatcollections with an opening bid of $900. Bidding is open now and closes on June 25,2017. Ya I know crazy isn't it. This goes back to my posted question about the value of this variety. The 1988D goes high in about any non damaged condition. PCGS lists 11 certified total. I am unable to find a certified number from ANAC or NGC. My guess is they be low. The one you have is a keeper if your pursuing a variety set. I am assuming the books just haven't caught up with the coins availability/interest level. Again my assumptions are like..."everybody has one". I do know I am tickled to have found one, last month two went on the block and both went for 400+ kopeks. One was sold from the Blackbird collection in March 2017 for $329. One is on ebay raw in (maybe) MS62RB for $187. If the seller was more established and had a return policy it would be tempting, but only tempting at most. I would rather pay twice that for certified. The listed coin has blurry photos..."but of course its just coincident right? Ya right. After my 1980 DDO fiasco (not) on the Bay I decided to can the ebay worm. I know there are good deals/sellers on the bay but frankly on casual surfing it appears to me one fifth is outright borderline fraud. OK man I'm getting way out there in left field, let me digress back. Any other roll searchers out there found any of the (I gotta say it) hehehe Wide AM 1988's? I'm curious.

Got me beat hands down, mine has a coin star kiss. I would say AU58 and. If its graded on a Friday MMS62 BRN. Nice solid coin John1 mine has the same die marks inside the ear and the minute Strike Doubling on the FG.Im trying to buy all I can lay my hands on but buying a 71 DDO F'S-101 is easier. Wanna sell yours (smile). Oh hey no kidding, PCGS graded some LMC's of mine and you know them their killer accurate and on top of their game but 3 got by where I laughed out loud. One is a 2000 WAM that went MS66...its pretty sloppy for 66 and the other went 64 red and its a real lemon. The stepchild is an awesome 64Red 1997 DDO F'S-101 if you saw it you would think 65 easy. It swings both ways I guess but for my humble 2 cents worth PCGS the most awesome. On closing I want to add again congratulations and nice pic.don't write me off bro I will get pics. up soon.
