Is it just me, or are people just losing the
ability to make sense in their writing anymore?

Every forum I go to has had a marked increase
in posts that make no sense and have no sentence
structure. Does no one care about spelling,
punctuation, or syntax anymore?

I'll get off my soapbox now. Consider this a "bump"

Ratio, we have folks from all walks of life on this forum, and it is a public place. Some have long resumes of education, some don't. It is what it is. We do not allow I'm lingo, and that is about the best we can do. There are many polite ways to state, "I don't understand your post".

I'm also curious if the sentence structure
that you refer to also means
using the "enter" key in mid
sentence for some reason. I guess
it could be some kind
of weird browser setting,
but I have never seen it
before.

Id sell it then buy my own island. Id prefer an island rich in pirate history so I can do some metal detecting.
Now that sounds like a good idea!

I'd do it just to be able to sound like that guy in Braveheart: "It's MY island!"

On or off my high horse, I can tell the difference between silver and clad. Real easy when you have the coin in your hand. Eel knew darn well this coin was real or he wouldn't have driven 2 states to get it to us.

Comments like yours from someone that gets a dozen nays on this forum including a few from industry leading experts, then still lists the coin on ebay as an error or doubled die..... don't hurt my feelings... so keep 'em coming if you feel the need.
Rest in Peace

This thread keeps getting better and better! First the drama with questioning the coin's authenticity, then Bobby and amac44 are in a healthy debate about it. I assume that both of you have some deep knowledge of the "Biz" and both of you know that even if the TGPs have not had a specific error on their list doesn't mean that it does not exist. Also, Bobby has one up on amac44, he has seen and held the coin. So, if anyone still has any doubt, wait for it to show up on one of the TGPs grading lists in the future, then you can eat your words for being a sceptic.

Although Bobby doesn't need any defense in his side of the 'healthy debate,' you make a problematic assumption at best if you put the two debaters on an equal level in anything. It's not even close to a fair fight.

I have never sent a coin in to be graded but I assume this is a little different right? They would need to do some kind of testing before officially authenticating it? Does that normally take this long? Feeling a little impatient for new info! lol

I'm still waiting on my first submission.. they received them 6/24. It can take a little while. With this coin, sure, they may have a few extra experts poking and prodding it... and in any case, I'm sure Eel or Bobby will let us know what happens.

Wouldn't it be cool to find a draped bust dollar struck over with a Seated Liberty dollar.

Where did eel get this coin from?
Not to be a Debbie Downer but I would guess someone struck a 1964 quarter with a 1972 reproduction die. It would be the oddest error Ive ever seen if it came from the mint. -PP
