Well, eel just left and the quarter is definitely silver. The weight is 6.23 grams which makes it correct for a 90% silver quarter.

Aside from the fact that this coin is silver, it has INCREDIBLE strike issues. Take a look at the pics below! (The greenish cast is from the lighting and any red you see is because I chose my clothing poorly today and wore red.) It really is an outstanding coin and well worth the wait!

I forgot the ask, did you measure it? Is it the same diameter as a regular quarter? Better call Coin World!

Yes, it's exactly the same diameter and thickness as a regular quarter. Sorry, I should have posted that, but I'm so enamored of the strike issues that I didn't think about that.

So what we have here looks like a 1964 quarter over-struck with a 1972 die. The whole debate over "planchets" makes sense now.

Now the $100K question: How is this possible (1972 strike over what appears to be a 1960 strike) without human intervention. A struck 1960 quarter wouldn't be stuck in the planchet feed ... it would have gone to the collection bin. Now, if someone threw a 1960 quarter in with the planchets awaiting striking in 1972 .... I love a mystery.

Strike issues indeed! Very cool...I take back my natural skepticism.

Could you please verify the weight, because here's what I see for...
90% Silver quarter: 6.25 gr.
40% Silver clad quarter: ~5.67 gr.

JBuck, good eyes for catching that!
If this is '72 overstruck a '64, I would guess the weight is close to 6.25gr?
I'm going to wait for an expert opinion here.
