Well, apparently I do not have many U.S. minted coins. I have, however, found one I do own whose type has not been posted yet, which is the Liberian 1/2 cent from 1941:

For those that have no US mintmark, how does one know that they were minted in the US?

Did the US mint keep records?

A while ago I assembled a decent bit of a type set for both Panama and the US-administered Philippines. I'll have to dig them out for photos sometime.

For the sake of this thread, are Manilla-mint Philippines coins allowed (as an official branch of the US mint operating in a US territory) or not allowed (as Manilla is not in the mainland US, and did not mint any non-Philippine coins?)

I'm sure the US Mint has a list somewhere. I use the PCGS list though.

A 1944 dated brass 2 Francs was struck at the Philadelphia Mint. It is listed in most catalogues under France where it saw limited use, if at all.It more likely was issued for use by the Allies in French North Africa during WWII
