931Louis, or anyone who can, could you post that article for us here (the one from CoinWorld) ? I don't have a subscription, but would love to read what they have to say about the 2008 w/2007 reverse.
Thanks,
Laura

Yes I would really like to see that article too. Also if people are still receiving these coins from the mint why are the prices $200+ on ebay? I really do not want to pay that but I also do not want to tie up $200(and space) in 8 or so silver eagles from the mint with only a chance of getting one.

Thanks biokemist6 for this article. There's also on on the NGC website.
Still, can anyone post the CoinWorld article for us that haven't got a subscription to that magazine?
Thanks a million!

Yes thank you biokemist. I was also thinking couldn't I order a bunch from the mint lets say (20) pick out the reverse back ones and send back the rest?

Biokemist, there is not way that the mint can change the return policy mid-order correct? Because I do not have the kind of money to let 20 2008 silver eagles just sit in my house. That would be messy financially for me.

Do not know why I am so interested in this but I just read this:

Coin World has just posted a follow up to their initial story, which includes an estimate of the total population of the new variety. According to the article, there are approximately 47,000 coins bearing the 2007 reverse type. The number was provided by US Mint spokesman Michael White. The estimate is based on the fact that employees at the West Point Mint located 15 dies with the reverse type of 2007.

I'm at class right now and do not know the mintage number printed on the COA but last year they made around 500k 1oz silver eagles I think so I'm guessing about 1/10 will be this reverse back variation?

Lucifer, this has nothing to do with cons, but I am curious about your being in class, and still beng able to post on the forum. Is it a computer class of some kind?

He could be using an iPhone or some other smart phone. I've been known to do some drive-by reading while waiting at the Doctor .

No I was just on my labtop not paying attention. My attention to the material can only hold to a point, the rest is to ebay and CCF. But someone answer my question please!

thanks, Lucifer. not being able to use one of the small "phones" keeps me pretty well out of the picture, but when one gets my age, there are several other things that are "out of the picture"!
