CA helped to many collectors with the choice to buy the set or not.
The broke the sets apart and now:
There is Silver Dollar for Commems Nickel for TheNickelGuy Half Dollar for army of 50c piece collectors One Cent - overpriced imo - but will find the buyer Dime and Quarter...
Interesting, how many sets CA has broken? 1000 perhaps...

The large number (in my guess) comes from assumption, that being serious RCM's customer, the CA has large allocations. Breaking these sets can pursue the target of selling raw coins and graded coins. I didn't notice the CA involved in large volume sales of graded coins, but maybe they share their allocations (re-sell, in other words) with some US base dealers, who has more limited access to RCM coins.

He is a store and what ever makes a buck you can't blame him, as I mentioned before I still believe he is not even a RCM dealer

I was the one posting yesterday saying I was ordering this set and wondered about shipping dates. I just got confirmation from the Mint that it went out today and I just ordered yesterday! Also thanks to those who passed on regrets on the passing of my father.

Someone smarter than me can answer this, but is this set the first 1 cent coin issued by the mint since 2012?

Quote: Someone smarter than me can answer this, but is this set the first 1 cent coin issued by the mint since 2012? I certainly am not smarter than you but I wondered the same thing. Then me being a collector of Canadian copper coins that could or did circulate, I breathed a sigh of relief that I don't have to open that old binder back up and fill a hole. I remembered that I don't collect proof cents. Nickels yes. So I had to get one. I would think a hardcore Canadian complete set cent collector would have to add one of these to sleep well at night. It's getting to be more of a job than fun anymore to keep up with every special anniversary or commemorative version that gets put out.

Yes first normal sized one cent since 2012. Silver and gold plated though rather than copper. Good news though...Bromberg did not take credit for this set so at least he did not commission it.

@ Silveroid
I believe CA broke open 10 Commemorative Sets to start with. When these coins first were posted on their website most of the coins started at a Quantity of 10.
I ordered the Silver Goose Dollar and 2 empty cases from the proof set from CA. I'm going to put my 1967 set in one of these cases to match the 2017 Commemorative Set. It will make a sharp looking display with these sets in the same case side by each.

Got my set today! Ordered on-line two days ago. Yesterday got a ship confirmation and today before 10 AM it is here. I don't know where they are shipped from but I am in Calgary.
I am very happy with this set. My only minor gripe is that the protective cellophane front and back leaves lots of "bubbles" on the surface, but I imagine I will discard that anyways.

Congrats on receiving it. It's bizarre how the RCM fills orders lol but you should be able to see where it was shipped from by viewing the Canada Post tracking. It would be very strange if it was not Ottawa. Unless they have changed the proof sets, that film should lift off and be replaceable. Allows you to view the coins and then put the film back for protection from scratches on the case.
