I find this a rip-off and a bid too high for 1 roll of wheaties. Wheatie Rolls are like 1.50-2. This is selling for 5. Almost 250% Higher than its regular value. Small number value, but incredible percentage rip-off. Imagine this: A person trying to selling a 100,000 dollar coin for 2.5 Million dollars. They are opened and looked through so you probally get common dates.

Check out the location of the auction--HK

My bro-in-law is Chinese, and I've heard the number 8 carries special meaning to their culture. People will also pay huge sums for phone numbers, license plates, and business addresses that contain many 8s. I'm not surprised a silver cert. with solid 8s is getting those bids (some people even bid in multiples of 8).

Apparently one zero=low serial number.

http://cgi.ebay.com/1976-2-FRN-CLEV...er_W0QQitemZ380021166905QQihZ025QQcategoryZ40029QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem#ebayphotohosting
"1976 $2 FRN - CLEVELAND - CHOICE UNC. low serial number - US $5.89
Up for auction is a 1976 $2 FEDERAL RESERVE NOTES from the FEDERAL RESERVE DISTRICT OF CLEVELAND, OHIO. I would estimate this note to be in CHOICE UNCIRCULATED CONDITION. The LOW serial number is D05769972A. The note was printed at Washington D.C. This would be a great addition to any currency collection. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding."

1964S--that one was great for its cultural interest!

Here's one that turns my stomach

Here's another winner, with several levels of "numismatic outrage"

"US 1 cent coin of 1985 with picture of picture of US Parliament on one side & the picture of a person on other side which is engraved upside down!"

I suppose we don't know much about each other?

The real clincher for this distinction: http://cgi.ebay.com/US-1-cent-coin_W0QQitemZ170213304963QQihZ007QQcategoryZ544QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
