This coin is almost in mint condition but the letter "R" and the text under the head is missing. Is this a pressing error or is it just damaged? And will this error increase the value of the coin?

I going to let the staff move it to the appropriate section so it will get the proper attention it needs.

It looks like a partial struck-through grease error.

to the forum!

To be snarky...I don't know Italian so I see no error...

It is a strike through plus the front tip of the bust & chin seem polished off, repair of die clash perhaps?

If it is indeed a partial struck-through grease error, then it is worth more than its face value at least.

It's very common in Italian lira coins to have missing details this is however not due to strike throughs but rather to the extremely hard chromium-steel used to make them. These coins are virtually indestructible and we'll struck examples actually carry nice premiums. They are however extremely common and not very valuable. P.s. they do not circulate and are not exancheable anymore.
