Most impressive collection for sure. But I have to ask, why would you go to the expense of buying slabbed coins that meet your grading standards, and then crack them out and effectively discard their pedigrees? Just asking.

Well I'll tell ya Coinfrog, it was purely selfish on my part. I guess I just like the look and feel of a complete Dansco. Everything you're saying, crossed my mind long before I started the album and made my decision. I suppose this set, look, condition and appearance gave me the most satisfaction. Even though I took pictures of the coins in the slabs and put the pictures in the back of the album, I completely understand your point. Your point is will taken. I am aware that breaking these this out is viewed by many in the numismatic world as sacrilegious. I'm not a dealer, trader, investor or grader. I'm just a hobbyist. I'm not taking it with me. My goal was to create a legacy album to "hopefully" keep in the family, long after I'm gone. The kids know how much my collection means to me and how much I paid to put this one particular album together. That's the best I can do while enjoying the accomplishment at the same time.

Very deserving of congratulations for such an achievement. I am not keen on push-in albums for MS+ or proof coins.

I always liked the saying - "Quit your whining" - LOL! way to go Tom - a beautiful set for sure!

Thanks gents! Now the goal is to environmentally protect the set as best I can without the coins deteriorating in the album over time.

That's one amazing set you've put together USSID18! As someone who is also working on putting together a MS Washington set, I'm really impressed! Quote: Now the goal is to environmentally protect the set as best I can without the coins deteriorating in the album over time. You might consider a Dansco 1-1/4 Inch Slipcase for the 8140. I've also read here on CCF to store Danscos in Ziploc bags.
