Your in good hands with today's advances. I wish the best for your Mom and your family. I have been where you are going, my wife had breast cancer 7 years ago, same type as your Mom but later stage. She has been cancer free 5 years and counting.

Thank you everyone for the positive thoughts and prayers! Before I knew about this, my wife (35) had to have an ultrasound after a mammogram showed abnormality. It took a while (and a little prodding) for the results to be known. It is not cancerous. This was about a month ago and then I get word from my mom a couple weeks ago. Prayers for your Mom, Spruett. My father was diagnosed with cancer in his early 70's. He caught it early and he beat it. He will be 83 this December.

Just a quick update: The surgery was first thing yesterday morning and went off without a hitch. The only lingering thing is that three enlarged lymph nodes had to be removed and we hope to get the report on that tomorrow. Other than that, she is doing very well (talking my ear off  ) and can get up and around on her own. We are pretty confident she will be released tomorrow.
