Glad to hear some upbeat news. Will continue to pray also. I went though something like this many years ago with my own mother where she had a large brain tumor - which explained her change of personality. Thankfully it was not cancerous. The tumor grew again two more times and they were able to remove it both times. Thankfully, and again, there was no cancer.

I know how scary it is to have a family member or relative to be diagnosed with cancer. Thank god it was caught early as the chances of beating cancer is a lot higher and better. It looks like she has a good chance of being okay and well. Thank god it hasn't turned into cancer. I hope everybody from Houston, Texas is okay, has good shelter, and food. I hope I made you feel better.

Many thanks again for the thoughts, prayers and well wishes. Unfortunately, the enlarged lymph nodes that were removed showed signs of cancer. If a couple of tests go okay, she will start chemotherapy in 2-3 weeks and that will last for about 6 months. After that, she will have radiation treatment for about 7 weeks. With the many advances in cancer treatment, I am confident she is in the good hands of knowledgeable and experienced professionals.

Sorry to hear this Spruett. I just ran across the thread. Glad to hear the surgery went well. I do not know if the type of cancer to be treated is in the range of the targeted nano medications or not. It may be useful to ask the doctor about this. There are new innovations using nanites that can target specific types of cancer cells to deliver the Chemo only to those cells instead of whole body treatment as usual. As this is very new, the odds are low but worth asking. I hope things go well with her.

I wish all the best to your mom, you and your family during this difficult time. Stay upbeat and positive - positive attitude and setting up goals and plans for family events helps as well. We went through prostate cancer with my father in law and these things really helped. We were always planning and keeping Dad in the loop and asking his opinions, thoughts and suggestions. Making him feel needed and him knowing that he was helping us was awesome and kept him feeling that he was always needed. Hard to explain but building off of things he already liked made it easy to keep him upbeat and involved (plus, I really think it helped to take his mind off of his situation). He really liked sending cards (especially Birthdays) and letters so we always made sure we had picked up or shopped with him for cards he needed and even wrote what he told us if he wasn't feeling up to it. Just a lot of little things for us that meant a lot to him. Our family is praying for yours spruett.

Thank you again to all. Everything is going as planned so far. She has been on chemo and that means a schedule of okay days and more bad days. That's expected, though. She started losing hair and quickly decided to shave it all. She told me she got a wig and I really had my reservations about that, but I'm not her. That kind of news is great! Yeah, I lost my hair and got a wig.I can deal with that all day long. I hope it keeps up this way. Yes, I understand there will be bad times, physically, but as long as it doesn't mean cancer, it's welcome. That's the update!

That's great spruett my prayers will be with her! It does take a little longer with chemo and radiation to get back to full strength but she will . It's hard to put into words the toll it has on you emotionally but the 1 thing that will stick with me forever is the love and support from my wife and family it was everything
