Thanks again to everyone. The last time I spoke to her, she said she had been watching a lot of movies, but didn't have that many DVDs. I've been wanting to get her a couple documentaries that I really like, so the other day I ordered Ken Burns' Dust Bowl. It may not be the most uplifting documentary, but it certainly can take your mind off of your own troubles!

Quote: Any Ken Burns is good stuff! I agree. There are only a couple I haven't watched and have watched most multiple times. I may make it a "thing" to randomly order his documentaries for her. She is a fan of history and personal stories in the same way I am and Burns does a great job with that. The next may have to be The National Parks. It is established that Baseball will not be on the list for her. I spent about 6-1/2 hours on the phone with her yesterday. She has six weeks of chemo left (assuming she doesn't have to miss a treatment because of low white blood cell count). Radiation was the plan for after the chemo, but she sounded like she is really doubting that it is necessary. I really don't know. She did graduate from nursing school, but things are quite a bit different now and her primary focus was psychology. If anyone who has been through it or has experienced the process with a loved one has any suggestions concerning radiation therapy, I'm all ears and will transmit the message to her.

Hope all is going well-how about getting her Netflix? I know, if she's like my mom she'll never figure out how to use it LOL

It has been a while, but she completed radiation therapy in December and everything seems okay. I visited her last around Thanksgiving and she was about full-throttle as far as I'm concerned. She told me about a new job she got recently, so that is a very good sign. I think she would be utterly stunned that this story is out here on the internet.
