Thank you Hondo Boguss.

For this round please show your coins with any animals.
The winner of the round will be coin with an animal with the longest common name, so no scientific names please.

You can post one coin or gradually build up with longer and longer names.

Here's one to get you started.

Frilled lizard

Yet-Another-Forum-Game---Numismatic-Go-Fish!

Lizard ties with turkey, but I thought I would give the fuller name a try.

Pelican beats lizard, but brown pelican loses to frilled lizard.

A Wonderful Bird is the Pelican by Dixon Lanier Merritt
"Along the By-Paths", Nashville Banner, April 22, 1913

Oh, a wondrous bird is the pelican!
His beak holds more than his belican.
He takes in his beak
Food enough for a week.
But I'll be darned if I know how the helican.

A note about the outline of Louisiana as shown on this quarter: it is not reflective of the Louisiana Purchase. In SW LA (where I'm mired), the land between the Calcasieu River and the Sabine River was not included in the purchase. As such, this 30 mile wide by 100 mile deep swath of territory was part of neither Louisiana nor Texas, and became a true "no man's land", as there was no legal authority. Miscreants and malefactors from all over sought refuge here, including the pyrate Jean Lafitte.

Keith wins so far with 12 points.

Had Jbuck used the more common name (in Australia anyway) of the Frill-Necked Lizard, he would be leading.
