In Italy you have to pay to use public toilets.

That last one would make more sense if you said Great Britain. Italy doesn't have penny coins.
Great Britain also used to have pay toilets (not sure if they still do) and they did cost a penny. In fact it became a common term for have to go to the restroom to say "Have to spend a penny."

Around the time of the 1969 Apollo XI moon landing, I remember a British coin magazine printing a little cartoon showing two astronauts who had just left the space capsule. One of them bends down to pick something off the lunar surface and says "It's a William III halfcrown!" (I was ten years old and found it hilarious).

Another one I remember was a guy putting a penny in a "Speak Your Weight Machine" and the machine saying:
"You weigh 165 pounds and have just lost a penny worth $30".
