@999fine - I doubt many collect this date by die pairing. But it is one of just a few Lincolns where the collecting community has come to agree on the known dies and their characteristics, so yes these pairings are of huge academic importance in sorting out many kinds of (but not all) fakes.

I must admit that, the more I re-read this thread, the more skeptical I am of my own diagnosis. I got hypnotized by the light show and failed to re-check earlier posts. I await the submission return with great interest.  Edited by Coinfrog

Using your gif I can see the die chip in the upper loop of the S, coin appears to be genuine. I'd send it out for slabbing.

On dies #1, #2 and #3 the mint mark is tilted, only on die #4 is the mint mark upright.
Also, only on die #4 is the mint mark well below the bottoms of the nines.
Your coin is a die #4 - absolutely no question in my mind.
It is very common to see the die scratches around the mint mark on die #4.
ps. the four dies used for the 1909-S VDB are not known as "pairs". I have personally seen no research that indicates that each of the four obverse dies was only used only with a specific reverse. I am, however, collecting data on the subject but have not analyzed any of it yet.

CONGRATS!! Even cleaned and damaged SVDB's are worth good money. You at least doubled the value of this coin by slabbing it.
