Nothing quite says "beautiful" like a 200 yr old MS63 silver crown sized coin.

I only paid $100 for the 1888 Crown. Thought that was a bargain.
That 8 Reales is nice, looks like a top pop, too.

I collect coins from the Santiago, Chile mint. Here are some of my Santiago 8 Reales: Santiago Mint 8 Reales 1787. Carlos III Santiago mint 8 Reales 1795. Carlos IV Santiago mint 8 Reales 1801, Carlos IV Santiago mint 8 Reales 1807, Carlos IV Santiago mint 8 Reales, Fernando VII, 1810, so-called imaginary bust. Santiago mint 8 Reales 1817, Fernando VII. Last royalist 8 Reales issued by the Santiago mint after the defeat of the Spanish by the chilean patriot army.

Dorado - I don't mean to come across as a butthole but can we limit the Sol postings. You have literally posted 10 similar coins with varying years. The idea behind this thread was to allow people to share their gem world crowns; coins that they treasure and take great pride in knowing that they own. I understand that everyone has different tastes and budgets and not everyone can afford a $5,000 crown. If you have something nice and unique to share then I'm sure we'd all love to see it, but you don't need to post something immediately after someone shares their coin, especially if you're going to do it 10 times with the same coin. If you have the same coin/series with varying years post a pic of the one or two you like best or if you have many to share post a picture with multiple coins in it or something along those lines.

You have to think positively. If I had stopped putting the soles , your post would be deserted. In other words, these soles , allows your post to survive and not left in oblivion. This is only my opinion. Good luck

Dorado... a lot of your coins in this thread seem highly polished... did you buy them that way or are you "treating" them the same way you treat Canadian large cents? http://goccf.com/t/100132&whichpage=2

Well Dorado, I'm glad you're able to take it so lightly. I give you kudos for that.
As for the post, it's not my post, it's everyone's post. I may have started it but it belongs to everyone. I wanted to create an "eye candy" thread where people can enjoy the various treasures of peoples collections. By that same token I wanted to see who shared my interests.
Anyway, I would rather have this thread be idle for a bit than just post any old crown. I have a ton of crowns from my earlier collecting days that are nothing really special. I try to post things that are rare/unique and that I value and think people would like to see.
Anyway that's my take. I apologize if I was overly blunt/aggressive.
