Ever since Anoob posted this coin four years ago I have been asking him to sell it to me. He finally agreed, so she mine now.  AR Tetradrachm 168-150 BC 32mm x 16.6g x 3h Obverse: Macedonian Shield with bust of Artemis facing right. Reverse: Greek legend which translates to "Of the First of the Macedonians" Club with border of leaves. Several monograms. Above IPE, Left Omega E and Right gamma AP Amphipolis mint. This coin type is known as First Meris. |

Fascinating. Interesting how Macedonia has come to be pronounced as Masedonia when the name clearly is Makedonia.

Always feels nice to get a coin after a long wait. I'm still saving up for a coin that I saw in the beginning of the year... but as I always do ...waste most my savings on a different collection and I'm back to the start.

It feels great, like I said it took four years to convince him to sell it to me. There are a number of these for sale at any given time that I could have bought, but this one wanted to be mine.
