Found this in a bank roll, Ive been trying to match it. On coppercoins it looks like it could be 1DO-008 but an EDS, the doubling looks a lot clearer on this coin. In CPG it looks like it could be FS#1-035.2 [3-0-V ] Just not sure if it is one of these or a different one. There is no doubling on the date. Any help would be appreciated. Definitely a doubled die, but I cannot tell you from images which one. Congrats on the find, these are scarce.

Out of this bank box I found 1963-D 1DO-002 1981-D DMM ? I'll post that later, 1974-1DO-001 large date and a 2000 with some type of doubling between the columns witch is posted. Still have 20 rolls to go.

Hi, I don't want to be a nuisance as you have some great shots there but I need to see the date as well in order to help. Definitely a doubled die! Some are evident on the date, some are not. I might be able to give you an idea. The whole date in one shot, if possible, and the 83 in another if you can. I lean toward FS#1c-035 in the CherryPickers' Guide. Thanks, Bill

Here's the pics of the date Bill, I'm using a microscope and can't get the hole date in one shot. It is no problem for me to supply more pics and I hope they help. Thanks Louis Image: 1983dddate2.jpg84.97 KB Image: 1983dd83.jpg88.99 KB Image: 1983dd198.jpg84.59 KB Image: 1983dd983.jpg88.98 KB

Hi, OK, I'm 99.9% sure it is the one I mentioned above....FS#1c-035 Others have a more obvious doubling on the date. Although not dramatic on the date, this coin shows a minute bulging on the lower right of the bottom of the 8 an a slight thickness of the tail of the three. Again, very subtle but it nails this one down. Breen labeled it as #2309 but I don't generally work in Breen #s very few people do anymore. The coin is a Class V doubled die. Pivoted hub doubling. The point of rotation is not toward the center as it would be on what is called a Class I doubled die (The big 1972 DDO Lincoln Cent, for example). The pivot point as the die was being hubbed would be more toward the edge of the coin on a Class V doubled die. In the case of this coin, the pivot point would have been along the rim (more or less) near the date. Consequently there is almost no doubling on the date but the doubling is evident on the LIBERTY and the IN GOD WE TRUST. Nice coin! Thanks, Bill
