The Missouri, Kansas & Texas Railway was widely used to bring cattle to market, hence the central vignette on the first certificate.

Here's a fairly modern certificate for the Great Northern Railway (issued 1964). The frame is quite ornate and it has a nice portrait of railroad baron John J. Hill, nicknamed "The Empire Builder" -- which not coincidentally is the name of the Amtrak line that currently runs along some of the former Great Northern tracks.

I really like those, Wheatback! The Mt. Tamalpais stock is very nice. Looks like it was probably a tourist trolley that took visitors up to the top for a magnificent view. In Los Angeles there was a similar line that went up to Mt. Lowe.

It's been way too long since I've posted any railroad stocks! Here's one that arrived yesterday. The river scene is quite charming and really captures the era.
