I would leave the label if you are not going to pull the Ike out. I can almost guarantee it will leave residue and any attempt to clean it will make the lens look less attractive than having the label. That being said, crack it out if you are building a Dansco or similar album. I freed more than a few for my Dansco.

I'd leave it as is. I cant imagine the label will come off cleanly.

Defiantly leave as is. You can always crack latter, but once you crack it it's gone. And to many of those holders are getting cracked in my opinion.

wd-40 removes tape residual very easily, and is very easy to clean off afterwards.
leave as is.

I have the four silver proofs in a capitol (or is it capital) plastics holder already, but wanted a set in OGP too, this coin completes the set in OGP. I'm just gonna leave it alone because I don't want to take the chance of messing up the plastic lens...
Thanks to all who shared their thoughts on this!!

Actually they come apart reall easy and can be closed back up easily too. just put a razor blade into the seem and pry it apart. They arent sealed like slabs, they are just a press fit together.

But keep it away from the seams. Capillary action will suck it into the holder and you won't be able to get it back out. DON"T use acetone, it will damage the plastic on these. Another possibility would be rubbing alcohol, but once again keep it away from the seams.
