This was another one of my finds and I can say that I have never found a 60's cent in this condition. They are always brown or very chewed up. This has some spots from something, but its very shiny. I believe it is a DDO on the date. Let me know what you think!

Have a wonderful New Year!!

There are no DDO's for the date in 63, eyelids and IGWT and L of LIBERTY, none for date. You have a good example of multi direction AND multi-kind of MD.
1963-Lincoln-Cent---DDO?

The YELLOW shows the Shelf kind of MD caused by a bounce. The RED shows a Shearing effect caused by a slicing of the sharp edges of the devices as it moved (either up or down). MD is caused by the dies bouncing upon impact , like a hammer will bounce upon a nail to bleed off the energy (physics).

There is at least one known on the date. 1963 DDO-001, 1-O-II-C Light spread on date.

Always be on the lookout for new varieties!

I see some 1963-D cents in the background. There are several doubled dies known for that year and mint, so look closely!

Actually, on doubleddie.com, there are 11 known DDO's for 1963 P. Some of them are only found on Proof coinage only though. Here's the link. doubleddie.com/814997.html

I think he was referring to doubling on the date, not elsewhere on the coin.

He was. But I just wanted to let you know that there is 11 DDO'S for 1963 P. In the pictures of the OP's coin, it's not a Doubled Die. It's what Crazyb0 said it is. :)

Thanks guys!! I will look into it. I have (4) 1963-D to peruse through, numerous 64's, 68's, 69's (no S) and one each of 65-67. This doubling thing is confusing!! But I am trying! Thanks for the site I'll be looking ithrough it. #128076;#10084;#65039;
