Quote: I want a 2018 SMS 2017 mule with P mint mark, 170 degree reverse rotated die, and a triple die obverse with extreme class IV doubling on earlobe and beard. A tripled ear Lincoln. Is that asking too much? No, I think that's perfectly reasonable request. But if you said you wanted it on a dime planchet then I would have called you crazy.

As mentioned early in this thread LasVegas is where I see new year coins first. Just got back to Texas early this morning from a 4-day adventure in Las Vegas. When I go, I save all my change and look through it when I get home.
5th coin I pulled out of the bag was a shiny new 2018-D nickel!
Will post a pic later this morning!

Finished going through the Las Vegas casino coins I brought home from the Jan 23-26, 2018 trip. Of the 80 or so nickels I brought back there were four 2018-D mint nickels in the group. (There were also two other nickels worth saving—-a 1949-P coin and a 1958-D coin.) No 2018 dated coins were in the group of 90 quarters, 48 cents or one dime I brought back. This is the quickest I've received new coins...less than 4 weeks into the New Year!

Could that mean we are in for a massive mintage year with the sounds of new coins being released quite quickly? I believe the earliest I've spotted new circulating coins was in mid- to late February of a given year.

2018-D Zincolns showed up here in Tampa this week. Got 4 in change, the whole roll in the cashiers drawer were the same. Weird - D mints in FL.
