The Air Force PNC is a badly made private issue, made by a very elderly gentleman, so apart from the envelope and the coin (still in folder) every one is different, or to put it another way, there is 1000 varieties of it.
Bit like the cabbage patch doll of coin issues really.

I have no idea what PNC is? Are they limited issues? I got the impression that they increase in value, is that why its diffidult to find them? Are they issued at the Perth Mint?

PNC's are Phillitalic and numismatic covers...in other words first day covers that have a coin in them. Generally they are join issue items with the post offie and the mint...ie in Australia that would be either the Perth Mint or RAM and Australia Post. In Australia first day covvers generally do not appreciate. Some PNC's have appreciated but these tend to be when the coin itself has appreciated, so this would lead you to believing the price of the PNC is relfected by the popularity of the coin.

Shasti There are also a number of American PNCs available try this link to search for some They are often listed in the USA as FDCs (first day covers) with coins http://www.unicover.com/EE2FDOQ8.htm

Actually, this is a second auction. In the first one, my 3 seconds snipe was not enough to beat the winner's proxy bid. Had resigned myself to another waiting game when I received an email from the seller he had another set for sale and was willing to sell it to me at my losing bid price. Told him to set it up as a BIN and secured it....

Congrads Mate I've got one just like it, but I just missed out on the Haley's comet- by sniping I was $1 less that the winner but I think they had set a much higher Snipe.

Check out my latest "acquisition", the 2006 year of the dog first day cover :D Just remember that the scan doesn't do the coin justice. Click on picture to get the full sized image.
