I see perhaps a casting sprue or "flan handle" on either side... that is usually the calling card of Ptolemaic and/or Seleucid coins, I think. OR, it could be clipping marks, which I think was employed by the Arabs (and also in India, but I don't think it's Indian). Can you post a picture of the edge? If it comes to a flat top, my money is on Ptolemaic; if it comes to a slanted point, likely Islamic. Report this Post to the Staff
