Ok so now we are at 2:2. @eddiediz, is it your preference to hold out for a while longer or loosen our definition of a decade?

We are still all tied up as to whether to proceed or not, so we can stay in a holding pattern here for some time longer. Maybe I'll have to pick up something from the 1140s to move us forward. While I'm digging around vcoins, here is a Denier from the Kingdom of Jerusalem (Crusader State) that was minted between 1143 and 1163 AD. It doesn't move us forward despite starting in the correct decade because it was minted for more than a decade. It is attributed as CCS #18.

So close ... I did not post this earlier because I thought the date range was 20+ years, but I see here https://www.coinarchives.com/w/lotv...42e74ac51a3c that the date range is 1146-1157. So here is my denar of Boleslaw IV of Poland (Gum. 88, Kop. 55?) in case we eventually decide to expand the range ... slightly (I think this is the closest to the 10 year rule that's been posted)

Ok that is a super coin! It looks like the date range on it is 12 years, which is a tad more than the 11 year "decade" that we have been usuing in this thread. For now let's stay on this decade and see if we can get even closer.

Yep. Just thought I'd post another coin from the era that's a bit closer on the decade rule.

Bump to get this thread back on the front page. We are still looking for a coin minted in the 1140s AD.

I just discovered this thread. I have one I have labeled Manuel I 1143-1180. I'm trying to confirm that to be accurate. No guarantees.

Nevermind. I think mine is a 1185-1195 Isaac II Angelus.
