I hate to be a downer here but history has shown that NCLT does not retain its issue price. For every Ladybird or Superman shield, there are 10's of other coins that are sold at 80% of issue price within a year and near BV 10 years on.

Fully agree. My formula, for what it is worth, buy coins that appeal to you. Whether it is the aesthetic, whether completing a series or another reason... Don't buy coins, especially NCLT, for investment purposes.

If you really want to make money buying and selling coins, either stick with high grade, probably slabbed, circulating coins that have a proven track record or if NCLT is your thing, gain dealer status from the RCM or US Mint and purchase at dealer discounts and resell quickly.

Buying a few coins from the vast array of issues each year while gambling on hitting the jackpot is a sure fire way to lose your shirt.

Enjoy coins because you enjoy coins. If you want to invest using coins, use known high grade slabs or bullion.

The most recent sold prices show an uptick in the price of the bumblebee coin. What is the most important is newest and most current prices, not prices months ago. There is not a single current listing for the bumblebee coin for below $150.

Agree 100%.

November/December 2017 NCLT sales on ebay were poor, with surprisingly low prices for many coins, not just the Bumblebee. I took advantage and picked up a few.

Dealers also discounted at that time. Bought the Snail coin for $59 from CA in a blowout sale. Perfect condition, not "impaired."

Can't find deals like that now.

On the other forum has been reported about Pysanka coin found in the PO.

Visited the closest branch and clerk told, that they will not have, but someone already asked for it.
So..the PO hunt begun.
People trying to get as many as possible, who knows, maybe this coin will turn out with the years as famous Baby and Wedding sets.

There are 5000 of these out there, those wedding sets seems to have many of them lost or packed away.

People reported [thank you!] and confirmed - 2018 Pysanka coin listed on APMEX.

Unlimited quantity, USD 109. This doesn't look impressive...but APMEX has it's own rules, regulations.

But anyway, we can load the coin from there as well!!

I've checked the ebay sales...

Mario is a really big dealer / seller.
He / she sold 93 Pysanka coins and has more in stock.
Looks like his asking price CAD 170 (but with free shipping across all Canada) determine current coin's price.

Added:
Oh, such surprise:
the 2017 Pysanka coin "goes low"
Sellers from Poland and Germany (and they exposed to the Europe communities) sold it for CAD 90+ and shipping.

Might be the current sales of 2018 coins are just hype, and not need to load it?

Logged in to check an order status and found two new additions to the RCM's February release:

1) 1.5 oz. Pure Silver Coin - Chinese Blessings - Mintage: 5,888 (2018) - $159.95

It's a colourized rectangular coin with an $8.00 denomination.

2) 1 oz. Pure Silver Coins - Black and White Yin and Yang: Tiger and Dragon - Mintage: 6,000 (2018) - $164.95

Another two-piece coin - this time one piece features a black background.

I ordered one of the new half-ounce silver Maple Leaf $10 coins. One of my few indulgences outside of the RCM's SDs.

The series began back in 2011 and, so far, has been limited to one issue per year - eight coins so far. They're an inexpensive numismatic coin and I've always liked the specimen finish used for them. They make for an attractive annual series that I'll continue to collect as long as it remains just one coin per year and they are kept as simple unadorned silver coins.

I recognize that the coins are not a good deal from a bullion perspective, but paying a numismatic premium for one $35 coin per year doesn't create an overspend worth worrying about!

@commems, when you receive your coin can you let us know whether the capsule can be easily removed from the packaging? I know some people will want to move the capsule to a coin tray.

Thanks!

@Alex A: I asked the RCM this very question and was told that the capsule, in its entirety, can be easily removed from the folder without causing damage to the folder (or coin). I'll confirm this once I receive my order.

My $10 ML coin has arrived and it would appear that that the RCM rep I spoke with wasn't really familiar with the folder in which the coin is housed.

I have been unable to remove the entire capsule from the the folder; its top piece comes off easily to get access to the coin, but the bottom piece appears to be tightly secured. I have used a fair bit of pressure while trying to remove it, but to no avail - maybe there's a trick that I'm missing.

I'm just going to leave it be - I don't want to damage the folder.

@commems

Just took a look at my $10 ML and I have determined that the bottom part of the coin capsule is the whole square part of the right flap. Meaning you can't take the capsule apart without destroying the holder. You need another capsule to house the coin if you want to put it in a coin case.

@commems, thank you for the update.

The RCM website states the coin can be removed for easy viewing, but says nothing about the capsule. Not so good for people using coin trays. I hope RCM issues this one in a clam shell (just like 2012 which had two packages: cardboard sleeve and also clam shell).

Thanks again,

Thank you guys, for update.
Correct me, if I wrong, or missing details:
on the RCM website, the coin appears as inside of the separate capsule.

I am going to rip apart this package, it is cheap looking, not informative and contains blah blah only.
Other question - where from will get the capsule quickly?
Looks like going to call RCM.

Paid attention - the NCLT part of the forum was silent for 4+ days.
Definitively reduced interest....

But here, some interesting news.

Just received ad mail from RCM, and there discovered truth about real date, when the Penny was withdrawn from the circulation.

Here the screenshot:
