Sometimes I saw expensive coins with the COA number "1" being sold on ebay. I'm wondering how those resellers obtained the coins in the first place.

Suppose I'm lucky enough to be a Masters Club Platinum prestige member and a CC&C platinum member at the same time. And I know there is that shiny Maple Leaf coin coming out in May. And I really want the one with the COA number "1" (because I am a collector and I'm greedy). Do I have more chance with RCM or CC&C? If with RCM, do I have more chance with online ordering or through my representative? Are there any strategies?

Rest in Peace

as far as I know, from the RCM it is totally random which COA you get. I've been late to the gate, and received a COA under 100, and I've been nearly first in line, and received in the 1000's.

To be the lucky one to get number one- would be 1:N where N represents the number of coins minted with COAs.
Rest in Peace

From whom?
See ebay item 253517674507. As far as I remember, this seller offers No. 1 COAs several times. An insider, I guess.

I asked a couple of RCM agents. I was told the COA numbers are random. In other words, there is no guarantee you will get a low COA number even if you order a coin very early.

Thanks nfine & vonigohcr

I was surprised when I saw this COA.

Need to thank Colonial Acres for NOT selling Ladybug with COA 5000/5000 for extra premium.

When you don't have some good coin to show, you definitively can show-off with the COA number
