Maybe not the rarest but easily the strangest.
Or perhaps the ugliest.

DrDon, that one in pretty bad shape. Did you find that in a roll? Although, it's not too late. You can give it a long soak in Acetone, if you want to try to up it's condition.

A couple of years ago while picking through junk silver stacks at a show I ran across this 1943-S Washington quarter DDO which I picked up for melt. Not a high-grade example but much less common than the 1934 DDO. (I'd love to pick a '37 but those require blind dealers to miss them.)

PUP's: bottom of TRUST, left edges of L I B E in LIBERTY.

Another nice error "in the wild" thanks to an attentive cashier at work -- 1974 Roosevelt dime with a clipped planchet. Definitely not rare, but neat.

Those are very nice finds paralyse! Even though you picked up the 1943 S Quarter Doubled Die Obverse for melt value, it's definitely a keeper. I also love the Dime as well.

DrDon, I would still call it a good score, even though it's in rough shape. Try giving it a soak in 100 percent pure Acetone for 4 hours.

I'm sorry that I'm doing this, but I thought it would be a worthy topic bump.

Here's my 1988 P Lincoln Memorial cent RDV-006 that I found not too long ago.
