@comp, first welcome to CCF. Second, it looks like it has been several months since @archeo last visited this website. You might have better luck contacting him via the CCF email functionality.

Sadly, I can't email him

"For security reasons new members do not have access to the email system. There is typically no reason for new members to email since.....

1. You are not allowed to buy, sell, or trade yet.

2. It's not fair to invade someone's privacy to ask them a question privately when there is an entire forum waiting to help you.
"

My feedback about this policy would be:
- in fact, there is a usecase for new users to contact other ones
- it does not indicate when or how I could become a regular user

Do you know how it works?

The former is true but I guess they wanted to limit it because of the spammers. I agree the phrasing kinda sucks though.

The latter is a limit of 50 quality posts AFAIK. Talk about stuff on CCF and when you get to a post count of 50 you can email people. You're clearly interested in coins so you probably have a lot to share.
The Walking Back by Decades 3.0 thread is currently entering the later reaches of the Carolingian era, so it would probably be a good target for discussion!

@comp, sorry about recommending you do something that you can't do (yet). I'll reach out to @archeo on your behalf and ask them to pop into this thread when they have a chance.

Great, more people that never owned a forum in their life giving me advice on how to run my forum. Most people at least email me though.

Question: Who here would be ok with getting spam emails from here every single day once spammers realize they can register and send an email to anyone or everyone?

I know I'm a no.

Hi @bobby
Sorry if my feedback bothered you. As a matter of fact, I managed many forums or social websites in both my personal and professional lives, and I feel there are other ways to avoid spamming than the policy you chose.
And most of my feedback was not even about the policy but about the wording which made it blurry ;-P

Congrats anyway for your work here! Always nice to discover new numismatics spaces
