moxking, thanks for the kind words about my 'brochures'. When they're all done, I'll let you know.
About the Cincy's; while the design isn't all that great, I actually like them because of the stigma attached to them. Kind of like the under-dog of commems.
I have since polished up the slab with Plast-X, and gotten rid of most of the scratches. I really should re-shoot that coin.

Lovely coins posted .. as expected. It is with some great patience that I resit the opportunity to show coins from my MS set. As a committed collector of the classic silver commemorative series ... I have written about the 6 'stoppers' ... coins that you may never find in that quest. This Cincinnati is one of them ... a dedicated collector will perhaps never find one. Fully concur with Beefer prior comments on the motivation for the coin ... solely made for the personal profit of Thomas G. Melish. 1936-D Cincinnati - PCGS XF40 Enjoy
Take a look at my other hobby ... http://www.jk-dk.art

I'm going to put this up, BUT it is not mine. Just thought some would find it interesting to see how they were sold- What was waiting in your mailbox: And when you opened it:

Cool Beefer. Could he have gotten his name any bigger on that return address?

I just love how the mailing label tells you there are coins inside. Just imagine doing that today.

Cool Beefer - thanks for sharing that. I actually hadn't read anything about this coin yet so will need to learn more of the story. I'm up late and the server time has switched so I'm going to kick off Civil Rights:

I have one of these, but no picture yet (proof, hard to photograph, still catching up on my photos). Love the flame design on the reverse.

I have to admit that I'm liking the proof modern issues better, even though the uncirculated have lower mintage. Flame reverse on those are different, for sure.

Quote: I have to admit that I'm liking the proof modern issues better... moxking, I'm with you on that and so my modern $1 and $5 commemoratives are all proofs. The details on modern proof strikes are just amazing to me, but the UNCs look very good as well. I really like the pics that GR58 has been posting of his UNCs. They look super
